Rebecca "Becky" Holbert Obituary

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Holbert, age 71 of New Carlise, Indiana, passed away with her loving husband by her side on January 26, 2024. Becky was born September 16, 1952, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Ralph and Angela (Steenbeke) Weber and graduated from Marian High School.  On May 8, 1975, she married James A. Holbert at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.  They recently celebrated 48 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband Jim Holbert of New Carlisle and their children Jamie (Jason) Mann of New Carlisle, Jeffrey (Denise) Holbert of Gilbert, Arizona, and Joe Holbert of Mishawka, along with 11 grandchildren: Alyssa Scott, Matthew Golubski, Makayla Holbert, Jeremy Holbert, Mckenzie Robinson, Kylie Mann, Kylie Robinson, Jenna Mann, Kelsey Holbert, Andrew Mann and Alex Mann.  Surviving as well are her siblings Sharon Graves, Tim (Mary)Weber both of South Bend and Pam (John) Heckman of Union, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Larry and Rick Weber.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home (Formerly Goethals and Wells) in Mishawaka.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home on Friday, February 2, 2024.  Becky will be laid to rest in New Carlisle Cemetery following her services.  For those unable to attend, services will be streamed in real time in the window below beginning 10 minutes prior to the start of her funeral.

Becky was employed in the cafeteria of IN/TEK and Hamilton Grove Assisted Living Center in New Carlisle, but her true calling was that of a homemaker for her husband and children.  Becky was an incredible cook and loved to spend time spoiling all her grandchildren.

In her spare time, she and Jim belonged to the Corvette Club where they enjoyed “dinners on the run” and going to shows and swap meets.  She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Australia and across Europe.  She also loved taking “girl trips” with her sisters to spend time with them and grow closer.  Becky and Jim also enjoyed spending winters in their home in Arizona. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and loved cheering on her Fighting Irish Football team.

Most of all, Becky loved being a wife, mother, sister and grandmother to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and love. She will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Donations in her memory may be to be made to charity of choice.
