Charles "Chuck" Wiley Obituary

Charles Eugene "Chuck" Wiley, age 70, of South Bend, passed away at Memorial Hospital on March 7, 2024. Chuck was born on July 11, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, and was adopted by the late Eugene and Virginia (Hyatt) Wiley. Born of Cherokee descent, Chuck was extremely proud of his Native American heritage. He was a graduate of Kingman High School, Class of 1971. On March 20, 1976, he married Susan Ferrell, and they had 2 sons. On April 27, 2002, Chuck married Sharon Graves who had 4 children, Marci, Amy, Matt and Dan.

Surviving are his sons, Josh Wiley and Seth Wiley, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his sister Dea Ann Miller of Kingman, Kansas, his niece Crystal Miller, his nephew Richie Miller and his great nephew, Alex Miller. Chuck was also a proud grandfather to Blayze Mahiew-20, Talyn "Zach" Wiley-13, and Wyatt Wiley-4.

Chuck will be laid to rest in the Harper Cemetery, Harper, Kansas at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with his arrangements.

 Chuck worked for Pickrell Drilling as well as being a volunteer fireman in Attica, Kansas until he moved to Indiana in 2000. Chuck did maintenance work on machines until he became disabled in 2003. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time with his sons coaching youth baseball and spending time mentoring his sons as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America in Attica.

He's carried a long-time membership with the Attica, KS United Methodist Church. He also found joy in playing cards, particularly Euchre, where he shared laughter and camaraderie with friends and loved ones. Chuck also had a deep love for traveling and exploring new places. He was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas Jayhawks, and after moving to Indiana, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
