Sheila Ann Ford, age 82, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her home in South Bend. She was born on September 27, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Roy and Mamie Penrod Yates. On September 9, 1959, Sheila married Eddie Lee Ford. They shared 47 years of love, laughter, and fun until Eddie’s passing in July of 2007.

Sheila was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She was a good listener who always found the good in everyone. She never spoke poorly of others, and people were naturally drawn to her warmth and patience. As a homemaker, she created a home that was welcoming, steady, and full of love. Sheila’s door was always open to anyone in need, and she offered help without ever expecting anything in return.

She was a devoted mother who loved her husband deeply and raised her children with compassion. She also played a large role in helping raise her grandchildren, who were one of the greatest joys of her life. Sheila loved spending time with her sisters and her family. She enjoyed card games, especially Euchre, and visiting the local casinos where her competitive streak often made those games lively and memorable. Sheila was huge fan of Elvis Presley, and she loved telling stories of seeing him in concert. Her faith was central to her life, and she read her Bible faithfully.

She is survived by her children Eddie Lee (Trudy) Ford Jr. Brenda (Timothy)Kujawski and Lisa (Mike Taylor) Rouch. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Shannon (Kevin) Putz, Hope (Keith) Ford, Faith Ford, Jennifer (Joel) Fluegge, Bill (Jennifer) Hardin, Amanda Case, Adam (Melissa) Gamble, and Samantha (Jay) Case, and her great grandchildren; Preston (Lo), Jacob (Emily), Nathan (Catherine), Alyssa, Brady, Konnor, Kam, Aubrey, Cole, Addison, Madison, Kayden, Rowan, Michael, Sophie, Lucas, and Ava. She is also survived by her great-great grandson Beau and her sisters Susie Johns and Margaret Greenway. Sheila is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Joe Bucker and Peggy Dover who visited her every day. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tamara Hardin in 2007, her son Veachel Ford in 2022, and her siblings Edith Barnes, Jean Tucker, Leroy Yates, Katie Greenway, and Brenda Stout.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home in Mishawaka, with funeral services following at 4 pm. Sheila will be laid to rest beside Eddie during a private graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
