Sharon J. Michele, 68, of Granger, entered heavenly rest on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was born on April 12, 1957, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Francis “Mike” Michele and Mary (Stebbins) Carter.
Surviving are her two children, Michele (Jon) Brown of Osceola, and Mike (Ashley) Reed of Edwardsburg, MI. Their children, Jase and Bennett Brown and Olivia and Everett Reed, along with Sharon’s sisters, Sally (Dane) Vida of Mishawaka and Susan (Robert) Lewis of New Carlisle also survive.
Sharon spent much of her life as a homemaker, always keeping busy with projects around the house, whether tinkering indoors or out, or helping with homework at the kitchen table. For many years, she also drove a school bus for both the Northwood and Penn-Harris-Madison school districts, taking pride in safely caring for “her kids” each day.
Raised around horses, Sharon loved showing and caring for them, and she passed that same love on to her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals, especially Peyton Manning and Joe Burrow, admiring their leadership and sportsmanship even more than the team logos they wore.
While Sharon was known as a tough and strong woman who valued respect and seriousness in life, she was equally warm, tender, and silly to her loved ones and was known as the “goofball grandma” who wasn’t afraid to get down on the floor and play with her grandkids. Family meant everything to her, and she had a beautiful way of balancing the serious with the lighthearted. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place with a time to visit with family and friends scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5 -7 pm at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home, Mishawaka. A service to honor Sharon will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11 am, following an hour of visitation prior to the service at 10 am, also at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Love Way. To light a virtual candle, share a story of Sharon’s life, or extend a message of comfort to her family, please visit the Guestbook.
