Robert “Bob” Andrew Yoder, 83, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Center for Hospice, Raclin House. He was born on April 27, 1943, in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Andrew and Bernice (Emge) Yoder. Bob graduated from St. Joseph High School in South Bend and later attended Tri-State College. On November 10, 1973, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Schumacher at St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Bob is survived by his wife, Suzanne; along with their daughter, Mary Felix, grandson, Nicholas Felix; and brother, Jim Yoder. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Diane Yoder.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home in Mishawaka, concluding with a rosary at 5 pm. Friends and family may also visit one hour prior to the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica Catholic Church on Monday, July 6, 2026, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Bob began his career working for his family’s business, Yoder Ready-Mix Concrete, before becoming a route salesman for Kreamo Bakery. He later joined the Mishawaka Parks Department, where he worked at the Battell Center for more than 10 years before retiring. Retirement gave Bob the opportunity to continue serving others through volunteer work at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center as an information attendant and transporting residents of Southfield Village.
Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved gardening, spending time outdoors, feeding the birds and squirrels, and taking walks with his dog, Bonnie. He rarely missed reading the daily newspaper and enjoyed the challenge of a Sudoku puzzle.
He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Frankenmuth, Michigan. Some of his most cherished moments were spent each year with his family at Miller Beach along the shores of Lake Michigan.
Bob’s faith in the Lord was central to his life. He was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church, faithfully serving as an usher for more than 50 years.
He will be remembered for his kind heart and easygoing nature. Bob had a warm presence that made others feel welcome, and he genuinely enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and everyone he met. His quiet acts of service and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.
