Myrna Shearer

Myrna Shearer, 85, of South Bend, bravely fought until her passing on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at home with family by her side. She was born in Columbia, PA on September 4, 1940, to the late Harry and Emma (McLaughlin) Geltmacher.

Surviving are her children, Stan (Marcia) Shearer of South Bend, Jacquee (Ron) Wood of Lebanon, PA, Sandee (Bob) Goeke of Mt. Joy, PA, and Brenda (Ken) Yoder of Strasburg, PA; Along with 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 surviving brothers, Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters, and 2 brothers.

Myrna was a homebody who loved making her house a warm and welcoming place for her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren and the beloved dogs, Nolo and Millie. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting the local casino in Pennsylvania, watching television, and going out to eat. Yet, no matter what her family was doing, Myrna treasured the time spent together and the memories made along the way.
