Michael “Mike” O’Bryan, 70, of Mishawaka peacefully passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, with family by his side. He was born in South Bend on December 11, 1955, to the late Melvin and Pauline (Miles) O’Bryan and later married longtime friend Terri Rininger on November 10, 2001.

Terri survives, along with her children, Brittany (Josh) Black of Osceola, Christine Pratt of Villa Park, Illinois, and Tyler Nixon of South Bend; grandchildren, Maeve Pratt and Quinlan and Brady Black; his siblings, Nancy (Tom) Hojnacki, Richard (Candy) O’Bryan, Joe (Jane) O’Bryan, and John O’Bryan, Oldsmar Florida; and nine nieces and nephews, many of whom he considered as close as grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Christine “Chrissy” O’Bryan.

Mike loved his time on the golf course, spending much of his free time perfecting his game and competing against his siblings for bragging rights. He spent many years in sales, both locally and for a time in the Indianapolis area. Outside of work, he enjoyed cheering on IU Basketball and Notre Dame Football and doing whatever he could to maintain his physical fitness. He was known for his quick wit and deep sense of humor and could usually find a way to make people laugh.

More than anything, Mike often said his greatest blessings were his faith and his family; something he truly believed in and carried with him throughout his life. Mike was a man of so much strength and feeling, a man with such integrity and goodness in his heart. He was a humble and gentle soul; the perfect partner, the best friend, and the sweetest love. Mike was a gift and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him—until we meet again.

A private time to honor and celebrate Mike’s life is scheduled for May 12, 2026, at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Notre Dame. Casual attire required per Mike’s request.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Raclin Center for Hospice Care, or St. Joesph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
