Luis E. Rodriguez

Luis E. Rodriguez, age 40, passed away at his home on September 19, 2025. He was born on April 6, 1985, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Jose and Eleovat Rodriguez.

Luis is survived by his parents; his daughter, Abigail Rodriguez; and his longtime companion, Silvia Velasco. He is also survived by his brothers, Oscar Rodriguez, Jose Alberto Rodriguez, and Jose Carlos Rodriguez.

One of Abby’s greatest joys in life was the time she spent with her dad. They loved sitting together on the porch, sharing stories and long conversations, or sketching side by side as they drew. Some of her favorite memories are of playing at the park with their dog, Chi-Chi, where she often saw the kid in him come alive. Those moments showed her not only the man he was, but also the joy, laughter, and love he carried in his heart.

Luis found peace outdoors in nature and enjoyed going to the park with his Boston Terrier, “Chi-Chi.” A talented athlete, he spent time at the YMCA and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, winning numerous medals in competition. He also expressed himself through tattoos, especially skull designs, and had a large collection of hats. He loved wearing jewelry, another way he shared his unique style and personality.

Above all, family came first. His nephews looked up to their “Tio Lalo,” who treated them with love, respect, and guidance as though they were his own sons. Luis was also generous with his time, often volunteering to help others without expecting anything in return.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart, IN 46516, on Friday, September 26, 2025. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.

Luis E. Rodríguez, de 40 años de edad, falleció en su hogar el 19 de septiembre de 2025. Nació el 6 de abril de 1985 en la Ciudad de México, hijo de José y Eleovat Rodríguez.

Le sobreviven sus padres; su hija, Abigail Rodríguez; y su compañera de muchos años, Silvia Velasco. También le sobreviven sus hermanos: Óscar Rodríguez, José Alberto Rodríguez y José Carlos Rodríguez.

Una de las mayores alegrías en la vida de Abby, la hija de Luis, fue el tiempo que compartió con su papá. Disfrutaban sentarse juntos en la terraza, contar historias y tener largas conversaciones, o dibujar lado a lado. Algunos de sus recuerdos favoritos son los momentos en el parque con su perro “Chi-Chi,” donde a menudo veía florecer al niño que él llevaba dentro. Esos instantes le mostraron no solo el hombre que era, sino también la alegría, la risa y el amor que guardaba en su corazón.

Luis encontraba paz al aire libre y disfrutaba pasar tiempo en el parque con su fiel Boston Terrier, “Chichi.” Fue un talentoso atleta, dedicando parte de su tiempo al YMCA y alcanzando el grado de cinturón negro en Tae Kwon Do, donde obtuvo numerosas medallas en competencias. También se expresaba a través de los tatuajes, en especial de calaveras, y poseía una amplia colección de gorras. Le gustaba portar joyería, otra manera de reflejar su estilo y personalidad únicos.

Por encima de todo, su familia siempre fue lo más importante. Sus sobrinos lo veían como a su “Tío Lalo,” a quien admiraban y respetaban, y de quien recibieron amor, guía y ejemplo como si fueran sus propios hijos. Luis fue además un hombre generoso, siempre dispuesto a brindar su tiempo para ayudar a los demás sin esperar nada a cambio.

La velación se llevará a cabo dos horas antes de la Santa Misa de Cuerpo Presente, que se celebrará a las 12:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de San Vicente, ubicada en 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart, IN 46516, el día viernes 26 de septiembre de 2025. La Funeraria Cruz Family de Osceola ha sido honrada con la encomienda de sus servicios fúnebres.
