Catherine Sue DeVreese

Catherine Sue DeVreese, age 67 of Mishawaka, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Catherine was born May 14, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles and Barbara (Carrico) Blair. She was a graduate of Penn High School and on September 5, 1981, she married Timothy J. DeVreese. They celebrated 41 years of love, laughter and marriage prior to Tim’s passing in September of 2022.

She is survived by her children, Justin (Paige) DeVreese and Sr. Regina DeVreese, O.S.F., both of Mishawaka, and her grandchildren Isabelle Santa, Adelaide DeVreese, and Noah DeVreese. Surviving as well are her siblings, Lucille (Keith) Johnston, Charles Blair Jr., Frank Blair, Christina (Ron) Blair-Whitt, and Lenny Blair Sr., along with her closest cousin, Ronald Blair.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11:00 am Mass of Christian burial on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Catherine will be laid to rest beside her husband in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.

Catherine enjoyed simple traditions like bike rides with her family and regular Scrabble games with her children at home. Catherine also kept the books for Tim’s plumbing business and was known for her attention to detail and her ability to keep everything organized. She was primarily a homemaker, but she also worked in housekeeping and elder care. Many people remember her as a friendly and well-liked server at Honkers Restaurant in Mishawaka. She was also a long-time member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Catherine balanced these roles with a strong commitment to her family, which always came first in her life.
