Betty J. Herthoge

Betty J. Herthoge, 87, of Mishawaka, passed away Friday morning, November 4, 2016, in East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation, Elkhart.
Betty was born May 25, 1929 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late August and Blanche (Schultz) Kater. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School and a life-long Mishawaka resident.
Betty was employed for many years at the Mishawaka News Agency.
Betty’s surviving family includes her son, Greg (Emma) Herthoge of Mishawaka; a sister, Pat Kater of Mishawaka; a granddaughter, Kyra Newman; and three great grandchildren, Brittiny Rangel, Hunter Gould and Chase Newman.
Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Dick Kater; and three sisters, Dorothy McCartney, Marjorie Richards and Audrey Martz.
Following cremation, Betty will be entombed in a niche at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. There will be no public services.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
